"What do you mean I can't go to the convention?! My friends and I have had this planned for months!"

Lucas yelled at his frazzled mother who was rushing about the house grabbing things to put in her purse

"I know honey but the sitter I called canceled last minute. I'm sorry but you're the only one that I trust enough to watch your little sister."

Lucas' mother sighed and grabbed her things before quickly hugging her son and making her way towards the door

"I'll make it up to you I promise! Love you!"

Lucas sighed and went to his living room and sat on the couch, unbeknownst to him his 12 year old sister Jessica had been spying on the boy and her mother's argument and felt bad for her brother. She sheepishly walked down the rest of the steps and walked up to her brother

"I'm uh... Sorry you can't go cuz of me."

Lucas looked up from his phone to look at her

"H-Hey it's not a big deal, I can always just go the next time!"

Jessica looked down and rubbed her arm before quickly looking back up with wide eyes

"I could just go with you! I could wear a Halloween costume or something and you could take me so that you'd be able to hang out with your friends!"

Lucas sighed and put down his phone

"No I can't Jess. For one you'd look VERY out of place at a convention mostly full of adults and second I'd have to watch you the whole time! Listen it's no big deal just... Leave me alone for a bit."

"O-Oh yeah... Sure."

Jessica slowly walked away from her dejected brother and started to make her way to her room. She looked back at her brother and had one, simple thought

'I wish I could help my brother!'

Jess sat in her room looking through her closet and looking at her old Halloween costumes from years passed when she found one that she didn't remember wearing OR having her mother buy. It looked almost like some sort of police costume

"When did I wear this? It's really revealing so why would Mom- EEK!"

"Damn I didn't think I'd look this good! All the time at the gym is paying off!"

With one final look in the mirror Jessica took off downstairs, ready to make sure her younger brother and his friends had a great time at the convention they'd been waiting for...
